Meet Our Doctor

Dr. Herod was born and raised in Harlingen, TX, where his parents were practicing dentists. His father, in particular, had a strong tradition in oral surgery and played a significant role in shaping Dr. Herod’s early understanding of dentistry. From a young age, he learned many key aspects and important considerations in wisdom tooth extractions and dental implant placement by observing and assisting his father. After receiving his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University–Kingsville, Dr. Herod pursued his dental degree at Baylor College of Dentistry. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Herod practiced in Tyler, TX, for six years, then sold his practice and relocated to San Antonio. He then purchased and operated a dental practice in Universal City for several years. In 2020, Dr. Herod sold that practice and moved with his family to Castroville. Shortly thereafter, he purchased Medina Family Dental. Dr. Herod focuses on the procedures he is most passionate about, including IV sedation, wisdom teeth extraction, dental implant placement, and cosmetic dentistry. He is dedicated to providing patients with exceptional care in a comfortable, small-town setting, drawing on years of surgical experience and a strong family legacy in dentistry.
